Now is the time to start planning and drafting your essay on Jack’s Island. Make sure that you have read the question carefully. You are not just to write a summary of the plot. There is a specific statement you have to discuss.

We are about to start our study of Jack’s Island, a novel by local author Norman Jorgensen. To help you with your understanding of the text, it is important to do some background reading about Rottnest Island and what was going on there during World War Two. If we are lucky, Norman will be coming to talk to you about his book.
There will be no new words next week due to camp. I will put up the words for Week 7’s test when we get back from Rotto.
